Little Hop of Horrors Blog Hop!!

Little Hop, Little Hop of Horrors, Little Hop, Bop Sheebop!  Little Shop of crafters!  Well you all know the song!  Welcome to my Hair Raising Experience you have probably hopped on over from Barb's blog, but if you have lost your way or would like to start at the beginning just jump on over here for the blog hop order or scroll down to the list and you will be all set and ready to hop along!

Today I don't have a card, or a scrap page for you... I am sorry... but I do have a fun cake I made!
It will make your hair hit the ceiling!  Well, I made the Bride of Frankensteins hair do that anyway!  I love working with Wilton food coloring!  The colors are so vibrant and so bright!  They are always perfect and you get the exact colors you are looking for.  The bolts are of course Gum Drops as well as her cheeks.  The rest is all frosting and cake!  I thought after hoping along with maybe a cup of Joe or Tea you may enjoy a slice of fun!  It is one long cake, I didn't put two together.  It's called long loaf pan and you can find it at Micheals or online at Wilton.com.  The idea was from one of their cake books as well from 2002!  Can you imagine... I bought that 6 years ago and only now used one of the ideas!  Of course mine is no where near as perfect as the picture they show, it came pretty darn close!

With Nicole's little Hop of Horrors it was just the perfect cake for this hop!  It got me in the mood for Halloween baking!  I hope you have enjoyed the hop so far... as you all know I am the owner of Simply Betty Stamps and I am offering a prize for this hop.  Just check out the details below for a list of all the generous Donators and their prizes.

My funny halloween moment was a few years ago when my son was 6, I would get so into making him these elapborate fabulous costumes and he's be the hit of the trick or treat street...people would come ou to take pics of him....and this year he was R2D2 made from paper mache over a laundry hamper, I'd painted it and made it light up and beep, and half way thru trick or treating he just stopped, sighed (I guess the costume was heavy) and said, "mom, do you think next year I could just have a store bought costume?!" LOL I was devastated! but it was kinda funny too. He didn't want to be centre of attention.

OK! That's my long winded story. LOVE your cake darlin!!
Cheers

Love your cake. When I was about 3 grade my mom made me a Halloween costume. She thought it was adorable, and so did I. Until I grew up. She made me a table. She used a cardboard box and cut a whole in the middle for my head. She glued a plate some forks and spoons and some fake food on it. I even had a table cloth. Everyone was starring at me and I loved it. Then when I looked back on the pictures, I asked my mom how could she humiliate me like that. Hahaha!!! She thought it was funny too.

What an adorable cake. My most memorable halloween was about four years ago when we rigged up a harness to a tree and hung my son from it. When everyone would get close to see if he was real or fake he would yell at them and scare the pee out of them. We love halloween.

WOW! Love your cake. Great Job. I have a funny one, about two years ago, we decided to spend Halloween with my sister in San Antonio, TX. Which by the way was so much fun. We had a mini halloween party and then decided to take the kids trick or treating. It was so much fun seeing all the different decorations. We came up to this one house and they had this huge, tal life like statue of Egore, everyone was scared of it, now keep in mind I said "life like". Well I went up to the front door and started talking to "It", see I thought it was a real live person! I stood there asking him question and after a while started wondering why he would not say anything to, well I finally looked up at him and poked him. That's when the owner of the house poped out from behind him and scared the life out of me. I yelled so loud my husband and sister and my brother-in-law all could not stop laughing. I dropped all my candy and almost started crying... Since then, every year they remind me of the time I talked to the fake statue. (True story). Thanks, this really brought back some fun memories.

Your cake is too cute and looks SUPER yummy!

My favorite Halloween memory is 2 years ago my hubby had to work, so my nephew came over to help me hand out candy. He was dressed as a scary Egor like character and I was dressed as a devil and we dressed the dog up as a pumpkin. He realized pretty quick that some of the kids coming to get candy were his age and he knew them, and his mask looked super cool, and my MIL had made him a cool ragged robe with a rope belt - so he decided to play like he was a decoration. He would stand next to the door like he was a statue and they would come up on the porch to get candy from me and he would reach out and touch them or say rawr/boo! We scared so many boys that night who were acting all tough - it was GREAT! And me as a cute little devil with a dog dressed like a pumpkin were the perfect lure for them to just come on up the porch. :o)

This cake is great, going to make a cuppa and imagine i am having a mouth full of her hair!. Here is Australia they don't really celebrate Halloween, but this year I have spoken to some of the neighbours, and we are going to arrange for a little Tick-or-treating for the kids as they see all the time on TV and REALLY want to do it !

Thanks

LOL, how fantabulous is that? I can just imagine people asking for a "hair piece" or a "face piece" :P
And Halloween stories, hmmmm, let's see. Hubby and I quite often have a barbeque and a few years ago it actually hailed. Did we go inside? Nope, of course not, the burgers were outside! So we sheltered the bbq and the guests all enjoyed the al fresco experience. (I think the Halloween punch may have helped :P)
Oh, and funny/touching, lol, one year, we had the BBQ on te weekend in between Halloween and Guy Fawkes night. Our friends' young son was about two years old, and his Mum wanted to see how he'd react to fireworks. So, we explained, and told him it would be loud and bright and fast, but also wonderfully colourful in the skies. His Dad was holding him, and every time a firework went off James would shriek with shock, and then remember it was supposed to be fun, glance uncertainly at his Dad to see what his reaction was. And of course his Dad was being very encouraging and saying "Yaaaaayyyyyyy" and getting James excited, and he did go along with it. But for every single firework, there was a scared shriek at the beginning, followed by a rather shaky-sounding cheer from the little guy :D
LOL, it sounds more like torture than fun just now, but it was cute at the time, and James does love fireworks now :P

Awesome cake. As I sit here with my morning cup of Joe I would have killed for a piece of that. I'm dreaming it was chocolate!! My most memorable Halloween was way way way back in High School when I split the pants of my costume while hiking across a swamp as part of Halloween hike with a Christian Youth Group. It didn't help that I had this huge crush on one of the members. I was mortified, When we reached the party the hostess had to donate a pair of jeans to cover my nearly naked bottom half. She was at-least 80 lbs heavier and 8" taller than I. I was mortified! Thanks for the opportunity to hop over to your great blog!

What a positively creepy cake! Thanks for sharing it the no-calorie way! My favorite Halloween memory is of the butterfly costume my father made me when I was about 8. My daddy was a math professor and not exactly what you'd call handy. I'm not completely sure he could boil water...but he made me into the most marvelous butterfly that ever flew. I word a black leotard and tights, and mama made me some antenae from pipe cleaners and pom-poms, but the wings my daddy made were the costume. Huge, black and yellow, they spanned from my head down to my knees. He made them of cardboard and painted them in the garage. He somehow (I never did figure out how it worked) made a kind of pull cord, so I could make the wings flap back and forth as I walked. Now, the town I lived in had a kiddie parade on Halloween, early, before the trick-or-treating. They gave cash money prizes of 50 cents (okay, so this was a lot of money to me 'way back then!) for costumes in different categories. I wore my wings so proudly in that parade, and was sure I would win a prize...which I had generously offered to share with daddy (he could buy a gallon of gas for his 25 cents!). Well, I didn't win a prize, but that was okay. I had those wonderful wings...which I kept until the paint flaked off and the cardboard curled. They were finally discarded when my mama moved out of the house, about 20 years after I was the most beautiful butterfly in the world!

Love your cake! Too awesome! My funny story is a couple of years ago, my son (age 12)was dressed in a complete scary zombie costume. It even had gloves that looked like zombie hands. We set him up in a chair and put the bowl of candy on his lap. He sat very still and then when older (he knew not to scare the little ones) kids reached their hand in to take candy, he'd grab their hand and yell. He even got some of his classmates with the trick. It was so funny to watch from inside the house. Thats my story, hope you liked it.

Just getting started. Can't wait to see what's next. Great cake! I remember once I was around 9 or so and we went to this house in our neighborhood, we were so spooked out at a house with a witch and a crystal ball complete with live actors. Made for a short night that's for sure.

Love the cake. My little girl ended up having the flue last year during trick or treat, so she had to stay with mamaw and pop while I took the boys. The boys took an extra sack and told the people who was passing out the candy that they were also getting candy for their sick sister. At the end of the night my boys ended up giving her some of their candy too. I have such thoughtful and sweet boys who love their sister very much.

I always make costumes for my grandchildren. One year we had a grandchild who was only about 6 months old at halloween and I made him a candy corn costume. Another grandchild who was about 5 at the time decided he also wanted to be a candy corn to match his baby cousin. I showed him a picture of the costume and asked him several times if he was sure this was what he wanted and he insisted he did. Well on Halloween eve when it was time to get dressed for trick or treating and he put on his costume and realized what he looked like he was totally devastated and didn't want to leave the house looking like a big candy corn. We still laugh at the pictures when we see his dejected look.

I think my favorite Halloween memory is when I was 9 or 10 and decided I wanted to make my own costume. I dressed myself like a dog, got a cardboard box and attached suspenders to it. I painted "Puppies for Sale" on the side of the box, stuffed a bunch of my stuffed puppies in the box with me, and VOILA! I was a litter of puppies for sale :) I loved being the only one in my neighborhood wearing that costume.

Love your cake!

wow what a great cake, I might try it too! My most memoraboe moment from Halloween, is my when my son was 3 he was so excited to go out and get treats. He was dressed as spiderman with his face all painted. He went to our neighbors house, that have small children so I'm not sure why they made it so scarry. As he walks up the stairs a bat come flying off the porch right into his fac. He practically climbed up my husbands leg to get away. He was so scared he wouldn't go to any other houses. That was it for our halloween fun. Needless to say that in future years we have not been able to go to that side of the street again. Hopefully this year all our hardwork scrapping decorations will not be in vein.

What an awesome cake!!! I LOVE it!!! I'll try to make my story as short as possible...but it's a GRRREAT one! I live next door to my Mom. We have a "secret" gate between our yards in the back (so you can't see it off the street). One Halloween, I dressed up as a Priate. I would answer my door (before the treaters even rang the bell), give them their treats...and then RUN like hell next door through the secret gate and answer the door to THE SAME KIDS again...before they even got to the door! I think the parents were more frightned then the kids! But I am really not doing the story justice...if you go to this link...you'll see a layout I made for that year, and get the story told properly! http://alisonsrandomthoughts.blogspot.com/2010/07/pirate-bombshell-layout.html

What a great cake. Would be the hit of any Halloween party. Thank you for sharing. My kids are now 36 and 31 but I loved decorating and getting into the Halloween spooky spirit with them, and the joy of watching them get dressed up and going out to Trick or Treat. They always thought I over did the hugs and kisses because they were so cute and the picture taking. It is so great now to enjoy the grandkids and guess who are now excited and gushing over little ones. That is what it is all about I now get to enjoy the grandkids in the same way but get to enjoy the joy still on my kids faces as they enjoy their kids.

My most memorable Halloween was in 2007. My 4 year old son (who is now 7) was ALL EXCITED to go trick or treating. He kept saying how much of a big boy he was that he didn't need ANY help from mommy & daddy getting ready. So of course I let him dress himself as me & my husband were getting ready. I'm coming out of my room, not seeing my son in his room, "Are you ready?" I yell out, to find him CRASHED OUT on the sofa!! Poor thing fell asleep! That year he did not trick or treat, but mommy had a special treat for him when he woke the next morning! :)

Your cake looks DELICIOUS! Now I am in the mood for some baking myself. Thanks for the chance to win!

My most favorite halloween story has to be from last year, in which we got to take my son trick-or-treating for the first time! He was a "vampire" last year and looked so cute, he has a short waste so my mom had to hem up the pants about 3 - 4 inches hehehe! Just watching his face as he saw little candy falling into his bucket you would have thought he was winning the lottery! I absolutely loved it, and I know that no matter what a child's first halloween is one to always remember!

Your cake is adorable!

My best memory of halloween was the first year I spent it with my dad. I had been searching for him since I was 8 or 9 I didn't find him until I was 21 and married with 2 kids. I remember he was so excited to meet me and had been looking for me too! This was a week before halloween,we met and I found out I had 2 sisters and a brother and he found out he had grandchildren and that my son looks exactly like my little brother! We were all so happy we decided that we were going to spend halloween together! The next day we went shopping for costumes and he insited on buying me one for all the costumes he missed ( i saved it).We took the kids trick or treating and the whole night he kept looking over at me with so much love it was what i had been searching for, that was 7 years ago we spend every Halloween together now!
Sorry my story was so long!

Thanks for sharing and a chance to win.
Growing up I had 2 Halloweens (parents did not care for it) so it was not much of anything, just dressing as a Ghost.
With my girls, when they were young, I would let them carve & paint little pumpkins & dress up (barney, lady bugs and cats) one yr my 3 year old daughter (now 16) went as BARNEY, bought the whole get up,she was a freak for BARNEY, at night I changed her into pj's,woke the next morning and she was asleep IN the barney costume, this went on for about a week, she wanted to wear it all the time, said she was Barney..

That cake is hysterical!!! Great job! My recent funny Halloween memory was trying to get a picture of my three grandchildren together(all under 4)in their trick or treat costumes. Every photo had at least one of them crawling, turning, or walking away from the photo. We had a good laugh over it!

My favorite Halloween story is from last yr. I dressed my lil 2 yr old (at the time) as a hersey kiss & her brother as a monkey. We went walking through the neighborhood & I looked up and I seen my son trying to eat her sister. He thought she was a real hersey kiss. I tried to pull him away but he started crying because he wanted to eat a hersey kiss.

LoL the cake is great! My funniest Halloween was when my husband had a Mask with blinking eyes, very scarry old man and he had fake hands and he hid in bushes beside the house and jumped out at people. The funny part is..no matter how many times I have seen that mask for the whole next year he would just step out of a closet or from behind a door and it always scared the crap out of me! LOL you would think after a time or two I would be immune!

Your cake is great!! How fun. One of our most memorable Halloweens was a few years back. My siblings and I all had kids the same year, so during their 3rd year...Halloween was just too cold to go beyond a couple houses. They were bundled up beyond belief and that covered their costumes. We all went back to the house, and the adults took a pile of candy and hid behind one of the doors throughout the house. The little ones ran from door to door in the house saying Trick or Treat. lol They loved it...you never would have thought Halloween was even ruined...it actually was full of laughs

The other funny part was that that costume was as opposite of my normal self as you can imagine so no one was expexting it!

Very cute cake. My favorite Halloween memory was when my daughter was 5. She wanted to be a witch for Halloween. I asked if she wanted to be a good on or a bad one. She told me a bad one. I then told her that just because she was dressed as a bad witch she was not allowed to act that way. Her reply was "Oh...I guess I will be a good witch then."

Great Cake!
Its hard to pick my most memorable Halloween...aren't they all just great? I'll go with 2 of my favs: the first is when I was in 2nd grade and won the best costume in the whole school for dressing uplike a gypsy. My mom scoured thrift shops and layered me with all kinds of jewelry, a shawl, a long skirt, etc. It was great and I wish I had a picture. The next best was my son's 7th halloween when he wanted to be a dead cheereader (What?) and he got best costume, to my surprise! The kid's got guts!
Happy Haunting!!!

My funniest Halloween memory involved my oldest son. When he was about 7 or 8, we were on a pretty strict budget (teachers) and thought and thought about what costumes we could just make, instead of buy, for the kids. Well, we decided to make our oldest into a pumpkin. So, my husband came up with the idea to make the costume out of chicken wire and weave it with orange crepe paper. We shaped the chicken wire into a pumpkin shape leaving it open in the back so he could get into it. Then we could just crimp the wire together. Also, we left room for head, arms and legs. Then we painted his little face with poster paint in a kind of stem colored brown. He was so cute!! But, we weren't thinking of how difficult it was going to be for him to walk AND go to the bathroom!! Anyway, by the end of the night, his legs and arms were all scratched up and we had to use our time before he went to bed assuring him that we would not put him through that again. He is 47 years old now and we still laugh about how dumb we were!!!!! Ahh, good times. LOL.

I would have to say when I was 5or 6 yrs old I got the measles and nobody wanted to come trick or treating at my house, We had bought loads of candy and I was so excited to hand it out and nobody wanted to come near me. My Mom paid each kid a dollar to come to my house just so that I would smile and not be sad because I couldn't go Trick or Treating. I think I had about 20 kids that night show up.

Love your cake!! Ok...my story....is actually the year I started enjoying halloween! Our store did a haunted house for muscular dystrophy for years. Hubby has md so even though Christmas was more my holiday I wanted to get involved. WEEKS of hard sweaty work and begging later I wasnt sure if we would be a success but we pulled it off. I took some nephews threw with me and the joy and fear mixture that we shared when the chainsaw guy took after us...lol...almost peed my pants. The guy knew I was expecting him in a different part of the house and came after us early! so much fun and a huge hit!

Betty,

Your cake is amazing!!! :) You did a great job!

My 7 year old son likes to make his own costume every other year (this will actually only be his second year, I guess!). My husband just groans, because we end up spending more money (not to mention the tons of time) than if we bought a costume. But my most memorable Halloween was 2 years ago (he was only 5!) when he decided to be a robot. We used a box (painted silver with all kinds of knobs attached) and a foil dryer vent for the arms & legs. He actually won 2 costume contests and they took his picture at one of the homes we went trick or treating at & he ended up in the newspaper! Making the costume was a great bonding experience (although, it's hard, because he is in charge of the design-he won't let me get ideas online; he wants to be creative himself) and it was just an amazing moment to see how proud he was when he won...

Thank you for sharing and for the chance to win,

Well the best was when she went to drive me to the party, we realized I couldn't fit in the car. So Thank God for awesome neighbor with a cargo van! I so need to find those pictures! My funniest Halloween was when I was 3. The week before Halloween I jumped off a brick wall and broke my ankle. OK, you're thinking why is a 3 y/o jumping off a brick wall. Well, the wall had crumbled and the part that I jumped off of was about 6 inches high. Yep, I broke my leg jumping off a 6 inch brick wall. I didn't think much about it until Halloween happened and I was told I couldn't walk around the block trick or treating. I had to be pushed in a stroller. I was devastated because I was a big girl now and didn't want to be pushed in a stroller. But that was the only way my mom was taking me. OK, I was 3 I really don't remember this but my mom said I was just devastated and it was the worst thing that could happen to me being treated as a baby instead of the big girl I thought I was. :)

Your cake is so cute. My most memoriable halloween was last year. My daughter had the H1N1 flu and was so sick, we couldn't go trick or treating and I had a Halloween party for her and her friends and we had to cancel that too. She was extememly disappointed that she couldn't partake in any of the fun activities. She would lay at the top of the stairs so she could see the kids coming to get their treats and nap in between the door bell ringing. I will always remember that Halloween because of the sad look on her face. Now, this year Halloween is going to be a much bigger deal that it has been in the past because we now we can't take it for granted.. So this year we are having a big party with all her classmates. The party is planned, costumes purchased, now all we need is October 31st.
Have a great Halloween,

Love your cake! Ok so here it goes, when I was about 12, I decided I was too old to go trick-or-treating, truth be told the year before I got scared by a moss monster and refused to go back. Anyway, my cousin and I dressed up and sat on the front porch to had out candy, well our customs were pretty scary and the kids didn't want to come up to get the candy and my dad decided to scare us! So he went out of the back door and it was pitch black outside except for the purple light on the porch and he came around the house with a white sheet over his head and jumped up on the porch. Needless to say candy went flying everywhere and I even pulled some of my own hair off trying to get my mask off so I could open the door. He was rolling on the floor laughing at us and we got the idea and took off our mask so the kids wouldn't be afraid to come get their candy! Guess you had to be there! lol

My best memory happens every year on Halloween - my late husband loved kids and he made sure he really spooked the outside of our house for all the trick or treaters - he passed away in 2005from brain cancer, and the kids still come ever year to our house and ask where all the decorations are! I never have been able to find any of his decorations - very spooky.

I love the cake! I made a round cake, that looked like a mummy head, one time for a Halloween party at one of my daughter's house (she always has our family & friends Halloween party a couple of weeks before Halloween). I decorated it with icing "strips" to look like white cloth bandages. I used gobstoppers for eyes and gummy worms to look like they were coming out of his head and other candy items to make him look very Halloweenish! My favorite Halloween was a few years ago when my Grandkids (I am proud to say I have 11 grandkids so far!) asked me and my husband to join them trick-or-treating Halloween night. We have been joining them to trick-or-treat every Halloween since. Everyone dresses in costume and we all go to houses (only to people that we know) just for fun! Everyone now asks us if we will stop in so they can see what we are dressed like. It has become a tradition not just to my kids and grandkids but to all the people we visit Halloween night! Never pass up a chance to spend quality time with your family and friends!

I guess the funniest halloween memory was, one halloween my sisters and I went trick or treating. My youngest sister had a whale costume, she looked adorable she was around 4 yrs old. We came to a house where an older couple were handing out candy to the trick or treaters. The lady gave everyone a chocolate bar then told my little sister, "you get an extra candy bar for having the cutest Shamu costume." She got so upset and said, "I am not Shamu, I am Free Will!" Her tone of voice and face expressions were so funny we all negan to laugh which made her even more upset. Til this day we still reminde her of that event. By the way she meant to say Free Willie.

My funny Halloween moment was in elementary school. I went to my grandma's house to go through her old clothes and dress up like a housewife from the 50's. We had a costume contest in school and I won. My prize....a pumpkin! I was so excited, but didn't think about how to get it home...to heavy to carry all the way, so I had to roll it the couple of blocks home. What a site that was. Well, I carved that pumpkin and took it to my grandma's and gave it to her. She proudly displayed it, dimples and all from the pebble indents in it from the roll home.

I love the cake you made, I had to send your link to my daughter the cake decorator in our family. Anyway, I will share my most memorable Halloween with you and anyone else that reads this. It's not a funny one, or a special one but one that will live with me forever. Halloween has always been one of my most favorite holidays, decking out the kids in homemade costumes and decorating the yard and such for the trick or treators. On the night October 31, 2001 while at work I received a call from my sister stating my father was in the hospital and to call the doctor in Arizona. My parents were on a trip to Arizona from Oregon. My father battle leukemia for years and was given a clean bill of health to travel. He suffered a ruptured tumor that afternoon and never regained consciousness. The life support was turned off shortly before midnight and he died on November 1st at 4 minutes after midnight. It took a few years for me to be able to decorate the yard and get into the festivities of Halloween again but now I enjoying it as before, with a song and prayer given to my father at midnight.

My oldest daughter loves the Wizard of Oz. so when my girls were young they dressed up as the wicked witch (4 year old) and Dorothy (9 year old) this was in 1988. I do not know how to sew, but she just knew I could make her a "Dorothy" outfit including sparkly red shoes. I went out and bought blue checked material, used one of her dresses as a pattern. I used stitch witchery and put it all-together. I then took a pair of her black dress shoes and rubbed glue all over them then poured tons of red glitter on them. She was so excited and said she just knew I could do it cause "mom, you always say you can do anything if you put your mind to it."
her younger sisters outfit was alot easier since they always have witch outfits to buy.

Thanks for letting me remember that special mommy moment

My funniest/most memorable halloween moment was a couple halloweens ago when I was trick-or-treating with my friends. We reached one house that had what we thought was a fake dead body laying on the grass. The candy bowl was purposely placed so that we had to get close to the body in order to get any candy. So we all pushed one another until finally one of us had to get a little closer. But when we did the body jumped up and screamed because it was actually a kid dressed up!! we all screamed and ran away but we came back laughing and got our treats :) I smile everytime I remember that moment haha

That cake ROCKS! :) Last year had a memorable Halloween costume for my husband and I. We were dressing our 2yr old as a fireman- red raincoat that I put reflective and electrical tape on, inherited NYFD tshirt, fireman's rainboots we'd found and a firechief's hat we'd been given at a summer festival. It was one of those costumes and that fell together for little cost. However, a few days before Halloween, the Boy fell and cut his forehead nicely on the track of our sliding glass door, requiring stitches- luckily they could use the glue stitches. So, instead of JUST being a fireman, we described him as a fireman injured in the line of duty. :)

Hi Betty!
Your cake is "to die for"! (die laughing, that is!)
Here's my funny story:
Quite a few years ago, in East Lyme, CT, my sister & brother-in-law used to decorate the whole house...inside & out. We would make the trick-or-treaters, not only come to the door, but come into the house, THEN they would get their treats! Most came with parents (they said!) for safety, but the parents just wanted to see the house!! They first had to walk up the "haunted driveway" in the dark & pass the graveyard with a closed coffin on the lawn& there was eerie music, strobe lights & fog smoke. There was one boy (about 9 or 10) who of course said, "this stuff doesn't scare me!" He marched into the house, saw the dinning room covered in spiderwebs & dishes with "food" in them with life size zombies sitting at the table. I was outside, dressed in a full length red sequined gown with my throat "cut" (as a zombie) & got the word from inside that this kid needed a "lesson" . So when he came out, with a hand full of candy, being all proud of himself...I jumped up out of the coffin & scared the living daylights out of him! He was sooo scared, he dropped the candy, kicked the side of the coffin and ran all the way down the driveway! Halloween Mision Accomplished! We ALL laughed for a long time after. Thank you for bringing that memory back for me! I would love to win!

Love your cake. My most memorable Halloween was when my grandpa drew a face on a large grocery sack and put it on his head and said that was his costume.

My best halloween memory was when my oldest son was 1 1/2 he was a skunk for halloween. We taught him to say Im stinky to everyone, it was so cute. We went out to dinner Halloween night with my husbands mom and step dad and he said it while they were taking a drink and they spit their drinks out all over the table they were laughing so hard. (They had never heard him say it) Sadly this was the last time we saw his step dad as he passed away shortly after from colon cancer. Thanks for the great giveaway!

Love the cake! Thanks for the idea. My most remembered halloween when my son was 8 years old. If you knew my son he wasn't good at sharing Well we where out trick treating and when were walking he saw one of his classmates in tears he had a hole in his bag and lost all of his candy. My son gave him half of his candy and I didn't even have to ask. I was so proud of my son that night made me feel that I must be doing something right....

One Halloween my eldest daughter was 6 and my youngest was 4. I design a costume for them as a pair of dice. My oldest had the 6 dots on her front and the youngest had 4. Their faces were painted black, with a black cap on their heads-for the one dot. Their legs had black tights and were the 2 dots and each arm had black long sleeves and were the 3&5 dots. The both started out going to our neighbors up the hill to the front door. My youngest dropped a piece of candy and her sister had to hold her one arm while she tried her best to lean over to pick it up. With no such luck she went toppling over. She had to struggle to get up and watching her try to accomplish this while still getting the candy and the work of her big sister to help her was more than my husband and I could handle and we just started cracking up laughing. To this day ... and they are now 26 and 23 they both remember the "dice" costumes I made and their fun day together.. I just love remembering this day.

Okay you may not think of this as funny but as a child I had a recurring dream at least three years consecutively. I would wake up from sleeping (in my dream) and be excited to start my day. I would see my step mom and say how happy I was to go trick or treating that night. She would then tell me that I had slept through halloween and missed it. I then would see my brothers and sister did have their bags of candy and I would be crying. Then my siblings all shared their candy with me. Moral? My siblings loved me my stop mom (at least in my mind at the time) did not.
Loved your cake!

My funny Halloween was when my youngest daughter went trick or treating for the first time. She was 2 years old and would knock on the door - say "trick or treat" - and then go right into the person's house and help herself to candy! No one seemed to mind!
Love the cake!

Great job on your cake, I love it and so did my daughter who is hopping along with me!

Well for my daughters first Halloween I put her in this beautiful white angel costume. We were at Grandma and Grandpa's house when it all began. (She has two older brothers) Grandma said Presley your are such a beautiful angel, God sure made you right! Then she said what is GM going to do with out you? (Because we were getting ready to trick or treat and GM and GP wanted her to stay with them, but Mommy want to show her off) and my son Cole looked up and said, Mommy don't we get to keep her? She is my sister, not an angel! We all laughed and I explained it to him. Then we all went tricker treating so this was funny and precious to me. He just looked so confused like someone was going to take her away!! This was his first time being a BIG Brother and to this day they are so very close.

Thank you for the memory jog

Most fun Halloween (and memorable) was the year we went to our church's harvest party! Everyone was SUPER dressed up and one of my friends dress like an old man and grabbed my but, spoke to me and I had NO idea who it was!! I LOVE your blog! Love the cake! My creative juices are flowing and I will defiantly be following!! Thank you! - Anna

Most memorable halloween is when I was in grade school and my dad dressed up as a mummy in sheets and with ketchup all over. He sat on the church steps and moaned all night and no one could figure out who he was. I was hilarious!

Cute Cake! My most memorable halloween was the one where I decided I was going to create my own costume. I must have been 9 or 10. I decided that I was going to be a Fat Rat. I took some old sheets, stapled them together and stuffed it with old newspapers. I created a tail and a face...I was proud of my creation but looking back I just shake my head at it!

Love your cake!! My funny Halloween story is from back when I was in high school. I decided to go as a geisha girl to a party at one of the "popular" girls place. I HAD to have black hair for this costume so I dyed my hair not even thinking that I might have a problem later due to the fact that I had it bleached before. Well when I tried to wash it out I ended up with this dark hair with a really green sheen to it! In fact it was pretty much just green! Of course this was just before school pictures were taken. I have been known for many years as "that girl with the green hair" in the yearbook. LOL

WHAT A GREAT CAKE, BETTY!!! I gotta tell ya, I've been hopping my butt off all day and I could use a nice cup of coffee and a BIG piece of that cake! My granddaughter would say "I want an eye, Grandma!" Don't ya love when kids always want a certain part of the cake?! LOL! TFS!!!

Love your cake. Wow, it looks big. My funnies moment was one of the Halloween parties that I held for my daughters and their friends. We always have fun games to play. One of them involved putting gummy worms at the bottom of a bowl that was topped with whipped cream. The girls had to get the worms out without using their hand. There was whipping cream everywhere. We all laughed the entire time and they had a blast. TFS.

My most memorable Halloween was after I became a mother and took my 5 month old baby around Trick or Treating. We had just moved into a small town and didn't have a lot of money so we cut up a white sheet and made him a ghost costume. He didn't have a clue what was going on, but my husband and I walked from house to house with big cheesy grins on our faces!

Love your cake!!!! Well my daughter is in love with Halloween, this is her 1st year making a haunted house in her garage, I always buy one nice Halloween decoration at the end of season and give it to her as one of her gifts at Christmas, and she always looks forward to that gift. So my best memories would be that I did something right in my daughter life because she is so into Halloween and it makes her so happy. Thank you for the chance to win.
