CHAPTER TWO: Running in a SKETCHY circle...

CHAPTER TWO: Running in a SKETCHY circle...
"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don’t much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn’t matter which way you go," said the Cat.
We have a fabulous sketch challenge today designed by our own TWISTED Tea Party member, Mary Giles! Here is the sketch:

Okay ladies time for a color challenge for Stampotique Designers Challenge!  Woot woot!  Our hostess this week is Kim Howard... Kim would like to see you use Mossy Green, Rose, Yellow, and blue as an optional color!  Let me tell you all, I am so color challenge... challenged!  I had the hardest time with it, I thought there is now way I am going to be up to par with everyone else on this but I gave it a go!  So here it is!

Stamp used: Queen of Life by Stampotique
Papers used: Lush Green Polka Dot paper by My Mind's Eye, and Nature's Flora/Garden Gate by Kimberly Poloson.  The gate punch is the other side of the Garden Gate as well as the piece I stamped the sentiment on.
Embellies: Green hat pins and green large rhinestones are from an unknown manufacturer, the crown is from Melissa Frances and I colored it with my Mossy green Copic.  Flower is from Prima Marketing.

Curiouser and Curiouser...here we go....

CHAPTER ONE: DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE: THE BEGINNING...

"The White Rabbit put on his spectacles. "Where shall I begin, please your Majesty?" he asked.
"Begin at the beginning," the King said gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop."

ALICE GETS GLAM: INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

In anticipation of the upcoming Tim Burton remake, let's GET GLAM with Alice!   Jessica recently scored this UBER fab makeup palette by Urban Decay and fell in love with the awesome colors, the NAMES of the eyeshadows (all after Alice, of course ;) and the pop-up mushroom mirror! It took me three days and a three hour drive but I finally tracked one down!  Woot woot!  Can't wait to get dolled up and Glamed with it this weekend for movie night with hubby!  Okay on to the Rabbit Hole!

We wanna see how YOU get Glam using this amazing little piece as your inspiration!   Show us your style, put on the glitz, and GET GLAM!

And WHAT would our first Challenge be without a PRIZE?!  Now, normally we'll be (hopefully) sponsored on the 1st Sat. of each month, but for today's FIRST Fall Down the Rabbit Hole, we thought we'd give away a little something!   ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen at Random to WIN a stamp single of their choice from THE GREETING FARM (in stock items only).   So, GOOD LUCK and here's how to play:

Head on over to Oh Alice from here!

You have until FRIDAY, February 26, 2010 at 10pm CST to upload your card or project using the above inspiration photo as your muse!  Upload to your blog or public gallery (please use keyword OAC1) and LINK your name below using Mr. Linky!  We can't WAIT to see your creations and THANK YOU for your support of this CURIOUS new venture!

Now here is how I Got Glamed!  Nothing says Glam more to me than Glitter, lots of color, and Swavorski Crystals!  I added all three elements to my card.

Although I did something completely different... no digi, no wooden, no acrylic stamp!  Was that MAD of me or what?  Guess when you hang with people like Jess you go a little mad too!  I took a flyer that was mailed to me promoting Alice In Wonderland the movie at El Capitan theater in Hollywood CA and cut it up!  My cutie patootie Johnny aka The Mad Hatter is the center of this card.  I added Orange stickles to his hair to Glam it up.    The ribbon was perfect!  It is from Mya Road.  The paper is all Halloween!  The black GLITTER striped one is Spooky Alley from Making Memories, the purple with circles and funky shapes, and the green polka dots (also Glammed up with Lime Green Stickles) is one paper-double sided from Pine Cone Press.  The stick pins are unknown sorry, I just picked them up from a local scrapbook store.  The large polka dotted brad is Queen and Co. and the small crown is from a Martha Stewart corner punch... I GLAMED that up too with Lime Green glitter.  The dew drops are from The Robin's Nest color black.  I think I covered everything...oh wait the Font I got from DaFont it was so close to the Alice In Wonderland font I had to have it!  The name of the font is Gingerbread House, weird eh?  It's a bit spooky for Gingerbread House!  I hope you all enjoy it!  This was so much fun for me!  I was so excited to do this card... actually its going to be an invite for my daughter's Mad Tea Party birthday in March... she actually turned 12 in Feb, but we were snowed in as we are every year for her birthday... so what better time to postpone it to that after the release of the movie right?  Okay, I have jabber jawed enough please go give the rest of the The Mad Hatter herself and the Twisted Thirteen come lovin'!  You won't be disappointed!

Ella's 1st Birthday Blog Hop!!

Hi everyone!  Today is The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog's 1st birthday!  Thank you all for coming my way and joining in on the celebration!  Thank you for hoping over from Tina's blog!

I have only been a part of this fabulous team since October and loving every minute of it!  The challenges have helped me try new stuff, learn new stuff, and introduced me to many new wonderful ladies!

For this Birthday Blog Hop we were to re-create our favorite challenge!  My favorite challenge was #39 A Recipe Challenge; The color Black, Hardware, and Distressing!

Supplies I used in my Recipe:

Stamp by: Annie Rodrigue this stamp was a special order made to resemble my daughter Rio as a Hogwarts student.. (Hollie I know you are googling over her, go Harry Potter lol)!  The sentiment was my own with tiny alphabet stamps.

Designer Paper; DCWV Glitter stack

Hardware: Making Memories Metal Mesh, black brads.  Queen and company large round black brad.

Distressed areas: I distressed both the paper and the large round brad.

Flowers: Prima Marketing.

I loved making this card, it was so much fun to see my visions of a cartoon daughter as a Harry Potter character come to life on my paper!  I hope you all enjoy it!  Your next stop is Robin, now that lady has got some talent... well all the ladies on TPE do really!  Head on over to Robin's blog for a peak at some awesomeness!

Oh and just in case you have lost your way here is the blog hop list for you all to go by.  When you get to Lori's blog, get ready for some more hoppin' as she has invited many ladies to join in on the hoppin' fun!

My daughter is 12 today!!

My daughter Rio is turning 12, wow where did time go?  She is a huge Harry Potter fan, so here is the cake I made her that awaits her when she gets home from school!  What do you all think?  There is a small blooper, but if you all don't catch it then maybe it won't be a big deal!
