Ella's Pink Scrapbook - Challenge 1

Woot woot!  Happy April everyone!  Can you believe that we are getting snow!  It started Wednesday afternoon and it's been non stop.  Not too much gathered though... guess that was Mother Nature's April Fool to us because it started so beautiful and sunny then... Bam!  Big beautiul flakes were coming down as I was putting on the finishing touches on my Scrap Project for Ella's Pink Scrapbook!

Okay okay, enough of my babble onto the main event!  Today is our first Scrapbook Challenge over at the Pink Elephant!  The first challenge was to show us your favorite scrapbook technique!

Well, my favorite techniques are to use acrylic paints with my masks and mount the layout onto canvas or my living room... you see I do not have any picture frames on my walls, if I can't scrap it, it's not going on my walls!  So... I thought hey, I can totally mount a page or two on canvas and then I could put it on my wall!  Genius I know huh... of course I wish I could tell ya I invented it, but I didn't.  I am sure I got the idea from somewhere!  Hee hee.

Okay, at any rate here is my Layout using one 12x12 Fancy Pants Dude Collection paper, lots of stickles and crystals.  A few Tim Holtz sprockets along with Tim Holtz Masks.  The paint is from Making Memories!  I have included a close up so you can kind of see all the small accents made with the stickles and crystals, but I had a hard time with the whole picture as it is a long canvas size... ummm I think it's 18x6 or something like that.  I did my best and hope you all get the general idea of the layout!

I got an award!

Look what I got from my pal Jen!  Yeah, thee Jen from Wild Flower Patch kids!  Know, when you get an award from someone as talented as her ya know you're doing something right!  Woot woot!  Like her, I was in disbeleife she was talking about me!  I saw my name, but thought must be another Betty... hee hee!

All I can say is thank you sweet friend that really meant a lot to me and gave me a pick me up today!  I too get to pass it on and actually return it right back to her... she is an amazing artist!

I would like to pass this on to the following talented ladies... and still there are sooo many more!

Lori      Lisa        Jen       Catherine       Sheri       Vicki      Nancy      Kristy      Kellie     Ann    Milo     Erin

You gals deserve it!  Pass it on!

Oh Alice Chapter 6

CHAPTER 6: The Red Queen's FINE PRINT...

"The Red Queen shook her head, "You may call it 'nonsense' if you like," she said, "but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"

This week we're getting down to business and reading the "fine print"here in Wonderland.
We're also SO excited to be welcoming Digital Delights by Louby Loo as our sponsor this week! WOW!
Wendy would like to welcome you all to Digital Delights, "a magical place filled with my little digi creations from all walks of life. We have a wide range of digital stamps which are delivered straight to your email 24/7!!"

Wendy also has her own line of clear dollar stamps available at:

What a lucky group we are! Wendy from Digital Delights has not only graced the DT with some super fun Alice-inspired images to use, but is giving away a TEN DOLLAR GIFT CERTIFICATE to one lucky winner who will be randomly drawn from all the entries this week! THANKS Wendy!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a card using some form of TEXT/Printed DP, Old Book pages, Newspaper print, Old dictionary, etc. We just need to see SOME form of printed text on your card or project!

Here is my card for this week!

A new Venture!

Hi gals!

As you all know I love Halloween!  If I could (actually I can, but don't) I would turn every stamp possible into a Halloween image for a Halloween card...but how fun would it be if I didn't challenge myself to do other fun stuff right?  Well, for a very long time know I have been pondering on how I would be able to do cards just for Halloween/funky/gothic Burton style... don't get me wrong I will not be giving up any cute stuff or any fun DT's I am on and will be on in the future if they will have me!  I came up with a solution to help feed my Halloween/funky addiction...  The Burtonesque Dolls!  If you are a bit more curios about it please check it out... I am also having a DT call to add to my dolls of 7 for this challenge blog!  I hope to see you there and we hope to inspire you Burton style!

Oh Alice Chapter 5

CHAPTER 5: WHOOOOOOOO RRRRRRRRRRR YOUUUUUUUU?
"Who are YOU?" said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation.
Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."

This week we are celebrating SPRING here in Wonderland! And, we have some WONDERFUL winged-things to show off courtesy of this week's sponsor, our very own Jen Shults! Jen's stamp company, Wild Flower Kids, has grown to be a favorite of mine and we are SO honored that she's agreed to sponsor the Oh, Alice! Blog by showcasing one of her new lines "All-A-Flutter"! Jen was gracious enough to provide the DT with some of these wonderfully cute and whimsical images as well...Check them out at Oh Alice!

Oh Alice Chapter 4

Picturing Wonderland

CHAPTER 4: Picturing Wonderland

"Thus grew the tale of Wonderland:Thus slowly, one by one,Its quaint events were hammered out -And now the tale is done,And home we steer, a merry crew,
Beneath the setting sun.

Alice! a childish story take,And with gentle hand lay it were Childhood's dreams are twined. In Memory's mystic band,Like pilgrim's wither'd wreath of flowers
Pluck'd in a far-off land..."

We have another sketch Challenge today, this time brought to us by our very own Pam Varnell! Pam created this sketch JUST for the Oh, Alice! DT blog and it just reminds me of Wonderland itself!

Stampotique Designers Challenge

Spring has Sprung!  This little guy is so excited he broke out in dance for Spring!  This little guy is called Twinkie.  Isn't he just cute bustin' a move!  You can find Twinkie at Stampotique Originals here.

I made the background paper using Alcohol inks.  The letters are from a very old set from Making Memories and the square rhinestones are also Making Memories!  The butterflies are unknown.  Ribbon is from Creative Impressions, and the mesh is Magic Mesh.  I used my Copics to color Twinkie in.

Hope you like my Spring card...although it's not very pastel it's still makes me think of Spring colors and Easter egg dyes!

Thanks or stopping by!  Please check out the rest of the Stampotique Designer's Challenge gals and show them some love!  Don't forget to play a long for a chance to win a gift certificate to Stampotique Originals!

"Would you tell me please," said Alice a little timidly, "Why are you painting those roses?"
