Cupcake Craft Challenges #74 and Pile It On #2

Here is my entry for Cupcake Craft Challenges gave us a sketch to work with this week.  Pile It On challenge was Tie it around and use at least 3 ribbons!   I used Bug A Boo's image called Ruby  "Attitude" isn't she fabby!?

OMG! Look at what we woke up to!

This storm is just amazing!  I have been in Big Bear Lake, CA for seven years now, and I have seen snow storms... but this one takes the cake!  We are buried in!

This is on Thursday morning...
Okay here is the front way in and out of the house, you can see my fence out there right?  A little bit of it anyway... and you can still see the hose and most of the side of the house between the floor and the roof...

The BBQ with a nice marshmallow mount!

This is my deck... you can still see the railing, my picnic table and chairs and lots of build                       up on the rails right...

Okay now this morning here is the BBQ and the way out to the deck from my living room door...that mountain is the BBQ!

My picnic table and chairs are somewhere under that snow

You can no longer see my fence out front that sits from floor to the top rail about 4.5 ft!

The front door exit, well not an exit right now eh?

And last night during the biggest part and heaviest of the snow fall... this crazy man riding his bike to and from work... yes ladies and gentlemen that is my husband!!

Crazy eh?  I swear if the diabetes doesn't kill me the stress from him riding his bike in the snow storms will!!

Well, off to find a snow removal technician, yes that is what they like to be called up here. LOL!!

The Pink Elephant Challenge #48

2 Designer Papers, 3 Buttons and Snowflakes

Our Sponsor this week

After being forced to take a break from my beloved TPE challenges I am back and ready to scrap n' roll!  This week I decided to go with a Scrapbook page layout for our challenge.  I used plain Bazzill cardstock in Concord Grape for my back drop.  The designer paper, sentiment, and stickers used are from BoBunny.  I used my Fancy Pants Designs swirly stamps with Stayzon ink in Cotton.  I only had pink buttons, but the Stayzon  worked perfectly to color them white!  The WINTER was stamped out using the Cotton ink and Stampendous alphabets!  I also inked the ribbon in Eggplant, it was originally creme colored!   It was a challenge for me to do a one page layout without photos, but I was on a time crunch!  I loved the challenge though!  I am loving these purples, blues, and cream coloros for winter!

The Pink Elephant

Not sure if many of you know this, I am on the Design Team for The Pink Elephant.  I am so thrilled to be part of this team... even more thrilled that I was asked to be on it!  I can't tell you all how excited I was when having a conversation with Lori Boyd one afternoon and she just asked me!  I was holding my happy scream/dance in so that I wouldn't hurt her ears!  I was so happy to join this amazing group of talented women and fun challenge team!  Thank you girls for giving the newbie a chance!!  There is so much more fun to come this New Year at The Pink Elephant so please visit often...okay everyday is more like it!  See you all there!

Jude stamping!

Bet you all didn't know that Jude was a stamper huh?  I was going through my pictures getting ready to send them off to Snapfish and came across a few adorable shots I had to share...

This is Jude at about one month old.  The hospital didn't give me foot prints like they did with my first and second babies, so I had to do it myself for Jude!  Does he look excited or what?

This one is of Jude at 5 months and a very tired and sleep deprived daddy!  He looks like he is storing nuts in those cheeks, oh and not only is he the President, he's also a client of the Hair (or hairless) club for men!

And finally this one is my absolute favorite!  I took it with my cell phone (I know bad Betty) in the NICU at the hospital.  He was just sooo adorable and since Rio was not of age to enter the NICU, I had to show her little brother.  She didn't get to meet him until about two weeks after his birth because he was in there!

1st day of 2010!

I had a great 1st day of 2010!  The kids and I hung out at home, I got to wear one of my new pair of socks (I love funky socks) and Jude got to ride a new ride... my legs!

Oh and he took his first three steps without holding on to anything!! Go Judester!  My son's friend Jesse was over...he looks sooo much like Tom Cruise!  I keep calling him Tom!  Don't you all think he looks like Tom?

Is it time to dye?

I used to hate, hate, hate that my hair was naturally curly.  I would spend about four hours a day straightening it!  It's to my waist when curly straightened it's about two inches longer!  So, it would just take forever!  When I met my husband and he told me how much he looooved the curls I stopped!  Now I am facing grey hair at 35!  Not just a few here and there either!  I mean big silver streaks!  I have been asked where I got my streaks done, and I have to fess up that it's just my natural grey!  It is starting to make me feel a bit self conscious about it!  Again, my husband says leave it you are always getting compliments, but I just feel sooo old!  What's all of your opinions?  Should I dye it or should I let it be-natural!?

This is also a good picture of me at the beginning of the year, one of my resolutions is to lose 75 lbs. (I want to be healthy again, like in my cheerleading days)!  Wish me luck!

Lot's of grey eh?

The cutest little bum...

My little Jude is such a character!  I love how grown up he thinks he is.  The moment I get him undressed he knows it's bath time and bolts for the bathtub.  He doesn't even wait for me to carry him in and put him in the bathtub, he tried to climb in himself!  Loves, loves the water.  He has actually figured out how to hold his breath and submerge himself!  It is probably from the swim lessons we took when he was six months old!

Isn't that the cutest bum!?

Special Christmas Gift for Rio...

Okay so as you can all see, I love Kimmies stamps, funky stamps and off beat characters and Halloween right?  Well, my Rio is no different!  She loves to stamp with me and loves funky skirts and outfits.  So, this Christmas I wanted something really special for her... so I contacted Annie Rodrigue the artist of the Moonlight Whispers of Kimmies Stamps and asked her to design a new stamp for me.  A special one to resemble or represent Rio.  She made this awesome stamp of my Rio!  Isn't she just adorable!  What I love more than anything is that it is one of a kind and not for sale anywhere else!  A stamp just for Rio!  Is that not awesome!!?? I just love the skullies, the books (Rio is the biggest bookworm), the hair!  I sent her the bottom picture of Rio to go by, didn't she do a marvelous job!?

Kraftin' Kimmies Challenge #10- Sparkle Baby!

Hello all!  I am so glad I had enough time to join in on this challenge!  Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps Challenge #10 is challenging us to Sparkle!  Show off any bling, glitter, rhinestones and stickles! Whatever you've got that's shiny and glittery, use it on your design!!

I used Clara for my Sparkle design!  I am loving using black lately for all my Christmas or Winter cards... a bit untraditional eh?  The paper is from a mat stack from DCWV.  Stickles used were Black and Waterfall.  The swirl stamp is from Impression Obsession.  Ribbon from Creative Impressions and the large button is unknown, I think it may have been from a bag of buttons from JoAnns.  I used Steadler Water Colors for the coloring medium.  The letters are from Stampendous.  Hope you all enjoy it!

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone!  I have missed you all so much!  My computer was down, it wasn't feeling good so I had to take it to Apple to get it fixed!  The last thing I thought would happen on that chilly Saturday the 26th afternoon was for them to tell me we would have to part for a few days!  Boo hoo!  But it's feeling super and is running as if it were the first day I fired it up!

Ok, so now that it's back with me I have a lot of catching up to do.  Lot's to share and lot's more to check out... so come back soon as I will start uploading stuff today!  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and this year brings nothing but good times and happy days!
